So, it’s all official and everything — We’re moving to Phoenix, AZ! I’ll be working there as an enrollment counselor for Grand Canyon University.
It wasn’t an easy decision, as moving is rarely fun and we’d be going even farther away from family. In the end though, the fact is that I’d be making enough that we wouldn’t have to be working four jobs between the two of us. Money will still be a bit tight, but we’ll be able to pay the bills and live on just my paycheck. That, my friends, is compelling. It gives Amber more freedom, and allows us a much less hectic lifestyle that we really think will be best for our family.
Plus, there are all the benefits of living in a city like Phoenix and working for a growing Christian university, and we already have friends there…
In the meantime…life is crazy. We have to be ready to drive to Phoenix by August 7 (I start August 9). That means we’re selling tons of stuff, finding a place to live, and even getting a new car. Yeah, I’m afraid the Olds just wouldn’t make it.
God has certainly been with us this far, though, and I’m sure he’ll be with us the rest of the way.
